Freelance.mv - another ibay website launched

We have recently launched our newest wesbite Freelance.mv which helps bring together those looking for work and those looking to get work done. Buyers (those looking for workers) and list their projects and receive quote from interested Experts (service providers). Buyer can ward the project any of the bidders. Experts can also create a profile which provides information about the areas of expertise. They can also build a portfolio to showcase their work.

Freelance.mv registration is currently open to registered and verified users on ibay.

Listing Message Board

We have introduced a Listing Message Board feature to enable public discussion about the listing among visitors. When viewing a listing, the message board is displayed at the bottom. Registered users can leave a Question or Comment. The Seller (Listing Owner) will be notified by mail, and can click the reply link in the mail to respond to Questions or Comments.

Since this is a public message board, all visitors can view approved messages. This will help more people to get information on the listing quickly.

We request Sellers to respond to Questions/Comments promptly to ensure potential buyers get the information they want about your listings.

Users can still communicate with Sellers through private messaging.

SuperBid - One Day Auctions from Rf 1

We are delighted to announce another new existing feature on ibay: SuperBid. On some Tuesdays we will conduct a one day auction for great stuff which we select based on your suggestions. Bidding starts from Rf 1 and there is no Reserve Price. We will announce in advance the Tuesdays on which we will be conducting the bidding. Check the Upcoming Bids page. You have to be a registered and verified user on ibay to participate in the bidding.

Use Google Maps in Real Estate Listings

When listing rooms, apartments and other property, you can use Google Maps to show the property location. When adding the item, you will be presented with a Google Map. Tick "Use Google Map to show property location." and click the location in the Map. Scroll mouse to Zoom In/Out.

This will be very convenient for buyers since they can easily see the location of the property.

Sell by Auction

ibay members can now sell items through auction. Previously, only basic classifieds listing was possible. Auction will enable sellers and buyers to get the best deals. More Info

List without Registering

If you are an occasional user, you can submit listings without registering on ibay.

You can do this by sending and SMS or MMS to 740-7878 with the required details. Please include important details about the item you want to sell or list. Also state the island/atoll. The contact number published will be the number from which the SMS/MMS is sent.

Registering on ibay to list item is the best way to make full use of ibay. If you want to submit multiple photos, communicate with other users via private messaging etc. you have to get registered.

Our target is publish listings requested by SMS/MMS within one working day. If the information is not complete, we may not publish it.

ID-Verified Status

We have now introduced a new verified status for ibay users. ID-Verified status is expected to create more trust among ibay users.

This status means we have verified the user's identity and hold copy of identity documents of the user.

Increase in the number of images

During our last survey, a lot of you asked for more images. So, we have made the following changes:
Premium Sellers: 8 images
Other Seller: 4 images
Real Estate: 10 images

Also, we have increased the image size from 100KB to 200KB. We hope this change will allow you to provide more information about your listing through more and detailed images.

ibay Survey 2010

We have completed the ibay Survey 2010 with many users responding to the survey. ibay Survey is a series of surveys we have been conducting since ibay was launched. This is the third in the series.

We have received many good feedback through the survey and will consider those practical to be implemented in future upgrades.

Yesterday we have upgraded our server to serve you better and keep up with increasing traffic.
